    Planting Instructions:

The ideal time to sow most wildflower seeds is in the spring or the late fall, however; sowing in other seasons can be successful. For spring planting, sow one month prior to the last freeze. For late fall plant after November 1st. Soil amendments and fertilizers are probably unnecessary.

Site preparation: Rake or till the site to loosen the top 2 inches of soil. Excess weeds or other undesirable vegetation should be removed to allow proper seed to soil contact.

Planting Methods: Blending an inner carrier like sand, potting soil or vermiculite in a 2:1 ratio (Sand to Seed) will help distribute the seed evenly over the site. For small areas hand broadcasting the seed with the carrier works well. For larger areas you may want to use a cyclone style spreader. Once the seed has been broadcast it should be gently covered by a light layer of 1/8" of soil for proper germination. This can be done by gently stepping in the seeds, gently raking them in, or lightly stepping on the area. Be careful not to press the seeds in too deep.

Post Planting Care: The planting must keep moist for 4-6 weeks using supplemental watering if necessary. You should begin to see seedlings in 2-3 weeks and the first bloom in 6-10 weeks. Once established, adding supplemental water during the dry, hot time of year will help extend the looming period into the fall.
