    Feed the Bees, Plant These

Simply Bee Organics has specifically crafted this blend to Maximize Honey Production. This blend of annuals and perennials was designed specifically to feed the bees high volumes of nectar throughout the year and provide a bountiful array of vital nutrients. This blend is strictly wildflowers and takes proper care and patient touch to establish over many years.

Lack of a proper variety of nutrients and nectar can cause undue stress on the bees leaving them vulnerable to pests and disease. Bees thrive on a rich array of wildflowers. Our blend is designed to have several types of flowers blooming at all times of the year while creating a beautifully colored landscape.

Includes: Rockcress, China Aster, Siberian Wallflower, Spider Plant, Lance-Leaved Coreopsis, Dwarf Sulphur Cosmos, Chinese Forget-Me-Not, Purple Coneflower, California Poppy, Perennial Gaillardia, Gaura, White Upland Aster, Corn Poppy, Rocky Mtn. Penstemon, Lacy Phacelia, Prairie Coneflower, Sweet Mignonette (Reseda Odorata), Smooth Aster, Single Marigold.

    Planting Instructions:

The ideal time to sow most wildflower seeds is in the spring or the late fall, however; sowing in other seasons can be successful. For spring planting, sow one month prior to the last freeze. For late fall plant after November 1st. Soil amendments and fertilizers are probably unnecessary.

Site preparation: Rake or till the site to loosen the top 2 inches of soil. Excess weeds or other undesirable vegetation should be removed to allow proper seed to soil contact.

Planting Methods: Blending an inner carrier like sand, potting soil or vermiculite in a 2:1 ratio (Sand to Seed) will help distribute the seed evenly over the site. For small areas hand broadcasting the seed with the carrier works well. For larger areas you may want to use a cyclone style spreader. Once the seed has been broadcast it should be gently covered by a light layer of 1/8" of soil for proper germination. This can be done by gently stepping in the seeds, gently raking them in, or lightly stepping on the area. Be careful not to press the seeds in too deep.

Post Planting Care: The planting must keep moist for 4-6 weeks using supplemental watering if necessary. You should begin to see seedlings in 2-3 weeks and the first bloom in 6-10 weeks. Once established, adding supplemental water during the dry, hot time of year will help extend the looming period into the fall.
